Handmade to celebrate the ‘laying down’ of the Danish Battleship ,  The Odin ,  in 1871.

Believed to be made from Danish Elk Horn or Red Elk antlers and a presumed ‘one off’  piece possibly made by someone whom worked on the vessel during 1871  Or possibily a local resident

An amazing character in Norse mythology & possibly all mythology ,  Odin was capable of taking many forms ,  not the least interesting being an Eagle!

Sourced from the U.S. from an area which had America’s largest Danish expat population during the closing 20 years of the 19thC.

This stunning Handmade 19thC Schrimshaw Eagle’s Head Danish Navy Ship ODIN 1871 is a very impressive antique ,  especially when handled in person & is guaranteed to present considerably better than the images here suggest!

Made from the featuring the natural curve of the Danish Elk or Red Deer ,  which add’s to the piece’s uniqueness and rarity.

At approx; 16 cm’s from base to top of eagles head , it is by no means a small piece.
It remains in fantastic original condition with no damage.

The hand carved feathers & carving of the entire piece has been executed by a master carver of the genre and is guaranteed to impress any critic.

The eagles eye is formed with a natural turquoise gemstone and set’s the piece of beautifully.
The beak and every aspect has been superbly crafted!
